Storyline: After docking at Starbase Yorktown, the USS Enterprise, halfway into their five-year mission, ventures into new dangerous uncharted territory. There, the Enterprise is destroyed by a new ruthless enemy with a deep hatred of the Federation, and strands Kirk and his crew on a remote planet with no means of communication. Kirk must then work with the elements to reunite his crew and get back to save Starbase Yorktown from this dangerous menace.
The USS Enterprise arrives at Starbase Yorktown for a shore leave of the crew and Kirk intends to be promoted to Vice Admiral to remain at Yorktown and has recommended Spock for his present position of ship’s captain. However, the survivor from a spaceship called Kalara is rescued in an escape pod and the Enterprise is assigned to bring the other survives from the distant uncharted planet Altamid. But they are attacked by a swarm of spacecraft and the Enterprise is destroyed. The crew escapes in pods while the alien warlord Krall seeks a relic called Abronath that Kirk has kept on board after an unsuccessful diplomatic mission. Krall captures the crew while Spock and Dr. McCoy team up with the native Jaylah, who is a skilled engineer that lives on the USS Franklin, an early Starfleet vessel that went missing a century before. Meanwhile, Kirk, Chekov and Kalara look for the Abronath in the partially destroyed saucer section. They discover that Kalara is one of Krall’s henchmen but they succeed to escape from Krall’s warriors and stumble upon Jaylah and their friends. Now the group intends to save the Enterprise crew and return to Starbase Yorktown.
